Documentary style wedding photography
The noise looks the same. Your day doesn't.
Most wedding galleries look the same because most weddings get shot the same way: line up, smile, repeat. I'd rather capture the day's magic as it was.
As a photojournalistic, candid wedding photographer, my job is to read the room, anticipate what's about to happen and be in the right place without getting in the way. As Jacey & Joe put it: you won't even realize they're there.

What a wedding day looks like
Start to finish, frame by frame.
I stay with the story: getting ready, the nerves, the ceremony, the toasts, the dance floor, the exit. I'll quickly organize the family and group photos you want, then step back again.
Want it on film too? I shoot film wedding photography alongside digital. See what each of the wedding photography collections includes.

Kind words from couples
Two words: BOOK. HIM.
If you want your wedding to feel like a movie and capture the intimate moments throughout the day, 57 Frames is the photographer! They pay attention to the small details you don't typically see in your traditional wedding photos. They also are extremely welcoming and will make you feel very comfortable in front of the camera. You won't even realize they're there. We cannot recommend 57 Frames enough!!
57 Frames was honestly incredible.
I have a lot of friends and family who are photographers/videographers, but my wife and I made the decision to go with a true professional, and I could not be happier we went with 57 Frames. They were great at organizing the big group photos, and snagging those candid photos you'll probably have up in your house for the rest of your life.
There are not enough good things I could say about 57 Frames, including their professionalism, hard work, and AMAZING quality and production.
They are so easy to communicate with, extremely kind and personable, and were beloved by everyone at our wedding. I had multiple guests go out of their way to tell us what a positive experience or interaction they had with 57 Frames, and all of our fellow vendors said the same and that they hoped to work with them again!
Documentary wedding photography FAQ
Questions, answered.
Will you pose us at all?
Mostly no. I anticipate moments instead of directing them. For the big group photos I'll organize and move things along fast so you can get back to your day.
Is documentary the same as photojournalistic or candid wedding photography?
They overlap. All three put real moments ahead of staged ones. For me documentary also means telling the whole story of the day, start to finish, as a sequence of frames.
Do you cover the whole day?
Collections include 7, 10 or up to 12 hours of wedding day coverage. Collection One also covers up to 3 hours of rehearsal dinner and up to 3 hours of welcome dinner.
